Anti-Spam Policy
Effective Date: August 20, 2026
Volt Labs Inc. ("Volt," "we," "us," or "our") operates a consent-based messaging platform. We do not tolerate spam, and we are committed to keeping unwanted messages off recipients' phones. This Anti-Spam Policy applies to everyone who uses Volt's platform and services (the "Services") and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. It applies equally to any rebranded or white label version of the Services.
1. What Counts as Spam
We consider spam to be any message sent without the recipient's proper consent, and any unsolicited, unexpected, or unwanted message. That includes messages sent to contacts from purchased, rented, or third-party lists (regardless of what consent the list seller claims to have gathered), and messages about a subject unrelated to what the recipient signed up for.
2. Consent Requirements
Customers may only message individuals who have given the consent required by applicable law for that type of message:
- Marketing and promotional messages require the recipient's prior express written consent, obtained through a clear disclosure that tells the recipient what they are signing up for.
- Informational and transactional messages require the recipient's prior express consent, such as when a person provides their phone number for that purpose.
- Conversational replies. When a person initiates a conversation, responding within that conversation is permitted based on their implied consent, so long as the replies stay on the topic the person raised.
Consent is not transferable. Consent must have been given to the customer sending the message. Buying, renting, borrowing, or sharing contact lists is prohibited on our platform, whether or not consent was collected by someone else.
Proof of consent. Customers must keep records demonstrating each recipient's consent and produce them to Volt promptly on request.
3. Opt-Outs
Every recipient must be able to stop receiving messages easily and permanently:
- Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REMOVE, OPT OUT, or similar keywords, and customers must honor any other reasonable method a recipient uses to revoke consent.
- Opt-out requests must be honored promptly and within the time required by applicable law, regardless of capitalization or punctuation, and customers must include clear opt-out instructions in their messages where required. After an opt-out, a single confirmation message may be sent; no further messages may follow it.
- Customers must support the HELP keyword with a response identifying the sender and providing contact information.
- Volt maintains opt-out and suppression lists that prevent customers from re-adding numbers that have previously opted out, along with a global block list.
4. Prohibited Content and Campaigns
In addition to the prohibited uses in our Terms of Service, the following may not be sent through the Services. These restrictions reflect carrier and industry rules, including the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices and carrier 10DLC programs, and several apply regardless of whether the content is legal where the recipient lives:
- Content that is unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent, including phishing, impersonation, and misleading marketing;
- Cannabis, CBD, and hemp-derived products and accessories (prohibited by U.S. carriers even where permitted under state law), and controlled substances or prescription drugs offered without proper authorization;
- Sexually explicit or adult content;
- Hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content;
- Firearms, weapons, and related products;
- Tobacco, vape, and e-cigarette products;
- Alcohol, unless the campaign uses carrier-compliant age verification;
- Gambling, casino, and sports betting content, except through limited carrier-approved programs;
- High-risk financial content, including payday loans, third-party debt collection or debt relief, cryptocurrency promotions, get-rich-quick schemes, and multi-level marketing;
- Deceptive lead generation, affiliate spam, or unregistered third-party traffic; and
- Techniques designed to evade carrier filtering or opt-out tracking, such as misleading sender information, content obfuscation, or rotating numbers to mask traffic volume (snowshoeing).
Volt may reject, filter, pause, or require changes to any campaign containing restricted content, and carriers may block such traffic independently of Volt.
5. Registration and Compliance Obligations
Business messaging in the United States is governed by law, regulation, and carrier and industry requirements, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), FCC and FTC rules, state telemarketing and quiet-hour laws, the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, and carrier 10DLC registration programs. Customers are responsible for:
- Registering their messaging campaigns where required (for example, 10DLC brand and campaign registration), providing accurate registration information, and keeping it current;
- Sending only the traffic and use cases covered by their registration;
- Complying with all applicable laws and rules for every message they send, including timing restrictions; and
- The content and accuracy of their messages. Volt transmits messages on customers' behalf and is not responsible for the views or content they contain.
6. Monitoring and Enforcement
Volt monitors traffic patterns and may review messages and campaigns to enforce this policy and to meet legal and carrier obligations. If we suspect a violation, we will investigate, and we may contact the customer to discuss options. Consequences range from a warning, to filtering or pausing specific campaigns, to suspension or termination of service, depending on the severity of the violation. Violations that expose Volt to carrier fines, penalties, or pass-through charges are the customer's responsibility, as described in our Terms of Service. We may report unlawful activity to appropriate authorities and cooperate with law enforcement.
7. Reporting Spam
If you receive an unwanted message sent through our platform, we want to know about it. Email help@textvolt.com with:
- The phone number or sender ID the message came from;
- Your mobile number (so we can have it removed);
- The date and time you received the message; and
- The contents of the message.
Your report will be registered, and the sender will be investigated for violations of this policy. The identity of anyone reporting abuse is kept confidential.
8. How to Stop Receiving Messages
If you wish to stop receiving messages from a sender using our platform, you can:
- Reply STOP (or CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REMOVE, or OPT OUT) to the message you received;
- Email help@textvolt.com with "OPT-OUT," "UNSUBSCRIBE," "STOP," or "REMOVE" in the subject line and the number you want removed.
You will be removed from that sender's list, and the sender will be restricted from adding your number back in the future.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy from time to time, and the current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date. Questions and reports should be directed to help@textvolt.com or by mail at Volt Labs Inc., 12 N Cheyenne Ave, Tulsa, OK 74103.
